What led you to teaching?
My teaching journey started when my children were at Primary School. Whilst volunteering at their school I could see what a worthwhile and rewarding job it was for their teacher to be part of their early education and decided I would also like to be part of that early learning journey for others. I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Preschool Practice which led me to work in different areas across the Foundation Stage, from Kindergarten to Reception, and then to a Year 1 class.
What inspires you and what you do?
The curiosity, wonder and excitement of the children in the Kindergarten inspires me every day. I believe that if children are happy and secure in their environment and surroundings they will thrive and learn, they will develop good self esteem and become confident in their learning. The excitement and interest the children show is so rewarding to see working in the Kindergarten at Skippers. We have lots of fun and there is always plenty of laughter.
What do you love most about Skippers?
What I love most about Skippers is the fun, friendly environment, which I feel lucky to be part of. The outside surroundings are amazing. We are situated amongst open countryside, have great views and have access to woodland and plenty of outside space for the children to explore. It’s a lovely place to work, with lovely staff and happy children.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family in my spare time and love nothing more than walking our dogs in the countryside and having days out and adventures in our converted camper van. My interests include sewing, scrapbooking, and flower arranging. I also love spending time in my garden growing flowers and vegetables and upcycling furniture.
