Open Events

Thank you for your interest in our Open Events.

Our next Open Week will run from 13th – 17th January 2025.

Your tour will be tailored so that you have the opportunity to talk to our headmaster,  Mr Phillip Makhouli and other members of the team over a cup of coffee and then have a tour of the school with our year 8 pupils.

Pre-booking an appointment is essential as the number of tours available each day is limited.

If you are unable to make the Open Week or would rather come sooner please call us to arrange a tour of the school at a time that is convenient for you.

Please call 01825 830 234 or email office@skippershill.com to book your space.

This website, Facebook, and our Instagram pages are excellent ways of getting a feel for what’s going on in our school, so please take a look to see what life is like for children at Skippers.

Choosing the Right School

If you would like some advice on choosing the best school for your child, here are some snippets from a blog  about that all important decision:

  1. Match the school to the needs of your child, rather than the other way round.
  2. Choose a school that values sport, the performing arts and creative arts equally and gives all children the chance to develop in these areas.
  3. Academic results are vitally important but delve under the surface of published ‘results’; choose a school that values and promotes academic progress for all, whatever the children’s starting points.
  4. Look for a school that has high expectations but doesn’t place young children under too much pressure.
  5. Look for a school that will show what life is like on a normal school day and watch the children at work and in the playground.
