Close co-operation and communication between Year 2 and Year 3, ensures a smooth transition to the Prep School.
A broad and balanced curriculum builds on the foundations laid in Years 1 and 2, with specialist subjects teachers introduced from Year 3 to further enhance the children’s learning experiences and help them on the road to becoming independent learners and thinkers.
Our extensive curriculum for Years 3 and 4 includes:
- English

Children will participate in a range of sports within the PE and Games curriculum including Netball, Football, Rugby, Hockey, Cross Country, Gymnastics, Dance, Swimming, Rounders, Cricket and Athletics.
In Years 3 and 4, children get the opportunity to represent Skippers in the Under 9 and Under 8 teams. These are selected from these classes and we have an extensive sports fixture list on a Thursday, which includes matches against other schools, providing every child with the chance to represent Skippers.
In Years 3 and 4, the children have a Chromebook each to support their learning across the whole curriculum, enabling a more varied and stimulating approach and helping to develop their computer skills.
Outside the Classroom
Children in Years 3 and 4 continue to enjoy a broad range of learning opportunities outside the classroom, with regular Woodland lessons to support the curriculum, as well as trips to local areas of interest throughout the year to further enrich their learning, including visits to theatres, historic sites and museums.
