What led you to teaching?
From as young as I can remember, I always wanted to become a teacher. When I was at school I used to love visiting younger classes to help with their reading and art lessons. After my ‘A’ Levels I went straight to University to study a BA in Education and I have never looked back.
What inspires you and what you do?
I really enjoy being able to make a difference to the lives of the children I work with. Every child is unique and has their own learning style and I learn so much from the children I teach. I love creating situations where every child can be curious about their learning and excel in new, perhaps unexpected, situations.
What do you love most about Skippers?
Skippers has such a kind, caring and loving atmosphere. It really is like one big, extended family. The children and staff at Skippers make coming to school everyday such a joy. I love seeing the happy smiles on the children’s faces and the stories they tell me are just magical. The staff are all very supportive and they are a great team.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love outdoor sports; mainly swimming and running. I often swim with my children (but they are faster than me!). I like competing in aquathlons and triathlons and one day I’d like to run a marathon. I’m looking forward to joining some of the children on their cross-country running at Skippers; we are lucky to have such wonderful grounds!
